Junior High News !
It's January 8, 2008 ! What a great day for the 7/8th grade here at St. Thomas School ! Both classes have passed the U.S. Constitution page with flying colors !! All students have earned a 90 percent or better ! Congratulations everyone!
Our student prepared school Masses have gone very well. Our next Mass will be during Catholic Schools Week, an especially joyful event here in Philo. Be sure to join us for Mass and coffee and donuts.
The St. Thomas Student Council is busy preparing for our big fundraiser of the year. Each year we have two raffles in conjunction with the parish Pancake and Sausage Breakfast. The breakfast is on Sunday, January 20, 2008, from 7 A.M. till 1 P.M. Come join the fun and try your hand at a chance for asome really nice prizes. Our beautiful, handmade quilt is again a treasure.
Soon after the breakfast is Catholic Schools Week. During this week we will also have our Mardi Gras Carnival for charity. All games and activities are prepared by the Junior High. Look for further information soon!
Believe it or not, we are also finding time to study chemical reactions, learn about heart surgeries from Mrs. Powell, use computers and graphing calculators, and have great sport seasons as well. This week we start Church history in Religion class. The Acts of the Apostles will be our first challenge and then we'll learn about different time periods and great saints and leaders of our Church. Quick fact posters about various popes are in our hallway for all to enjoy.
A heartfelt thank you to all who help us to accomplish so much here at St.Thomas School !! Thank you also to all who contribute to our raffles! |
